INDUSTRY ACADEMIA MEET (SOIS)

I-Scale Innovation Foundation (IGNITE), a Section-8, Not-for-Profit company, is recognized as a Nodal Institute by Government of Gujarat (GoG) under Scheme for Assistance for Startups (IC-GoG) and Student Startup & Innovation Policy (SSIP-GKS).

IGNITE, that started in 2016 as a student startup club in a small room, is now a full-fledged workshop equipped with all modern resources. It is one of the largest incubators, co- working space, research & development laboratory in Gujarat, it is a well-furnished space spread across an area of 20,000 sq. ft. to support startups from across the nation. IGNITE has a panel of 70+ mentors who are experts in various domains and provide guidance in areas such as Drone Industry, AgriTech, Electric Vehicle, Renewable Energy, etc.

IGNITE is also recognized as 'Patent Information Centre' with GUJCOST under which it provides services for the IPR filing. IGNITE has collaborated with IPR Cell of Gujarat Technological University for conducting Intellectual Property Rights Awareness Program to celebrate 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

Until June 2022, IGNITE has helped file up to 200 patents under its flagship programme Illuminate 1.0 & 2.0 in collaboration with Verite Associates and Attorney Dharti Shah.

IGNITE was awarded Certificate of Appreciation from Startup India, Best Jury Member Award from Startup India and Outstanding Participation Award from Startup India, IP Hall of Fame Honour by IPPO Annual benchmarking award by GTU.

In September 2021, IGNITE hosted an orientation programme for Silver Oak University students as well as students from other academic institutions called Prarambh. The program focused on introducing the students to the facilities and educates them of opportunities with IGNITE.

In September 2021, IGNITE organized a pre-summit on 'Startups: Inspiring Disruptive Innovations' in partnership with Startup India, DPIIT, and Gujarat flagship institutions and other key stakeholders in the State Startup Ecosystem. This event marked the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' to commemorate the 75th year of Independence Day. Around 250 participants were part of this national event organized to celebrate the extraordinary contribution of Indian Unicorns in Atmanirbhar Bharat.

IGNITE represented two startups Alter EV Conversion Pvt. Ltd and VAWT (Re-green Technology Pvt. Ltd at the International Automobile Centre of Excellence, Gandhinagar. This presentation was made at the Startups on Sustainability (SOS) event organized by IACE along with the Startup Cell, Government of Gujarat on 10th of December 2021. This was a unique event intended to support the start-ups / industry ecosystem in this domain.

• IGNITE was a community partner at Pune Start-up Fest 2021. The event mainly focused on inviting start-ups from all over the country & providing them a platform for mentorship, guidance & funding support, creating new entrepreneurs.
• Shivam Jani (7sem EE, ASOIT) and Kevala Kelawala (IGNITE) have created a mask holder with the help of a 3D printer, a mask holder that does not cause ear pain while wearing the mask. This innovation has been named Maskear. The student was giving these mask holders to Corona Warriors at very reasonable rate on no profit no loss basis.
• Mr Dhruv Patel, SSIP/IPR coordinator working at IGNITE under the aegis of Silver Oak University has been selected for the state sponsored exposure programme organized in collaboration with IIM, Bangalore. Dhruv Patel will actively participate in this carefully crafted state-sponsored exposure programme, and explore the ecosystem to fill the gap of depth mentorship and focused guidance.
